What were the final results of the 2010 pageant?

Congratulations Mrs. Michigan United States 2010, Kyla Marcial! Representing Southeastern Michigan in the pageant, Kyla has been married to Michael for almost seven years. They are proud parents of two children, Malayna, five and Michael, three. Kyla graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She then obtained her Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University. Kyla has been a school social worker with special needs children for eleven years. Kyla has also co-written and implemented a divorce recovery program called for children called “Oasis”. She is also a small business owner of “Lil Fleur Designs,” making custom hair accessories for girls. Kyla has partnered with one of her community organizations and local hospitals to donate these hair accessories to children who have lost their hair to cancer.

Volunteering since the age of ten, Kyla actively promotes her platform that is very dear to her heart, “Every Child Deserves a Better Tomorrow.” She is dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of issues that impact children through the Pope John XXIII Hospitality House, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan, Feed the Children and Nino Salvaggio Charitable Foundation for Children in Need.

Kyla lives by her motto, “My life will not be defined by what I do, but what I do for others.”

Who was on the judging team?

Auditor – Dwayne Harrigan: Dwayne holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University as well as a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Michigan State University. He has over 18 years of financial experience and is currently Director of Finance for Ypsilanti Community Utilities Authority. He is a member of the Michigan Government Finance Officers’ Association and International City / County Management Association. Dwayne is married with two sons and a daughter and is an avid Detroit Red Wings fan.

Head Judge – Christine Stellino: Christine Stellino is our very own Mrs. Michigan United States 2002 and represented the Great Lakes state in the Mrs. United States Pageant that year. During her reign, Christine dedicated a great deal of her time to Care House, a non-profit group whose mission is to prevent and reduce the incidence of sexual and physical abuse of children in Macomb County.

She was honored for her efforts by Senator Alan Sanborn, who presented her with a proclamation during a Senate session in the Senate chambers in Lansing. Christine has worked as a product specialist for General Motors, OnStar, and XM radio.

Judge – Adam Robertson: Adam Robertson is a professional ballroom instructor at Arthur Murray Dance School. One of his recent students was none other than Mrs. Michigan United States 2009 Jeannette Greco Pawlowski when she participated in Dancing with the Local Stars.

Adam strives to make all of his dance students feel as if they command the dance floor in any and all situations. Along with teaching, he also maintains a fulltime competitive dance career competing in American Smooth and Rhythm ballroom competitions with his fiancée, Melissa Newsted. Adam is a true performer and has participated and won many dance and figure skating competitions.

Judge – Jennifer Provenzano: Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts degree from Central Michigan University where she graduated in 2001. She has worked with the Charter Township of Canton for the last eight years as an Arts and Events Specialist where she sits on the community’s Public Art Committee and is involved in programming for the Village Theater at Cherry Hill, their 400-seat Performing Arts Center. Jennifer is also a proud member of the Michigan Recreation & Park Association, where she has served as a Programming Committee Chair, has written articles for their professional magazine, has led dozens of educational sessions and workshops, and was recently recognized with a 2010 “Innovative Program Award” for her “Random Acts of Fitness” efforts. Currently living in Livonia, Jennifer is happily married to her husband, Nick, who is her partner in travel and in life.

Judge – Todd Caccamo: As a current Canton Township Trustee, Todd Caccamo has been involved in many community programs ranging from Michigan’s Junior Miss to Veterans’ Outreach Programs. He is currently the Global Director of Sales and Marketing for B&P Process Equipment headquartered in Saginaw, Michigan. Prior to that, he served as Platform and Market Manager for General Electric Advanced Materials. Mr. Caccamo began his career as an entrepreneur and later joined Ford Motor Company where he served as an engineer and global program manager in the US, Europe, and Japan. Mr. Caccamo is also a combat veteran of the US Marine Corps and has served in various capacities from intelligence to infantry leadership positions. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan where he earned a BS in mechanical engineering and he has also earned an MBA from Wayne State University. Todd and his wife Kay reside in Canton, Michigan with their two sons, Carter and Domenic.

Judge – Karin Risko: Karin Risko, a home furnishings consultant at a major furniture retailer, fulfills her passion for decorating by helping others redecorate their homes. A former history teacher, Karin is also passionate about history. In 2009, she launched Hometown History Tours, a regional tour company that promotes the rich history of southeast Michigan and its role in shaping our nation. She is also the author of the "Glory, Valor, and Sacrifice: Southeast Michigan's Contribution to the Civil War" guidebook. Karin resides on Grosse Ile and is mom to Stefan, a student at Wayne State University.
