Michelle T. Hoerlein, Mrs. Tuscola County United States® 2010

Michelle has been married to her best friend Jonathan for almost four years. Together they have twin two year olds, Isaiah and Natalie. Shortly after the birth of their twins, the couple learned that Isaiah suffered from a congenital heart defect that required open-heart surgery.

After the support Michelle and her family received during Isaiah’s hospitalization and recovery, she became an active member of the Congenital Heart Information Network (C.H.I.N.), which provides research, funding, and support for families whose children suffer from heart defects.

Michelle graduated from Saginaw Valley State University where she earned her degree in elementary education. She went on to earn her master’s degree from Marygrove College. Michelle is currently employed as a public school teacher. She and her husband also sponsor the local girls varsity basketball team, which provides them with the opportunity to host team meals, attend games, and serve as role models.
