Christine McMahon, Mrs. Upper Peninsula United States® 2009
Christine recently completed her reign as the Homemaker of the Year for the state of Michigan. An MSU honors graduate and member of the International High I.Q. society, Christine worked for 10 years in newspapers before turning her attention to playwriting. She now writes, produces, and acts in plays to benefit Caring House domestic abuse shelter and other charities. She's an award-winning sculptor, baker, and author who loves to travel and try new things -- from eating octopus to diving in underground caves to sleeping in igloos.
Christine is active on the PTO board and as a member of MOMs Club International. She enjoys interior design, painting, white water rafting, and working on her novel. Christine has been married for 17 years to Daniel, a family practice doctor, and the couple makes their home in Iron Mountain with their two young daughters.
