Kendra Nichols, Mrs. Shiawassee County United States® 2008
Kendra believes that today's children are tomorrow's success! As the director of Baker College of Owosso's Early Learning Center for eight years, Kendra can be quoted in saying that she feels she has the best job anyone could ask for: educating and spending time with children! Kendra’s passion is to encourage children to eat healthy and live healthy life styles through creative movement, which she hopes will carry over into adulthood. Another way Kendra works toward this goal is that she finds enjoyment in coaching youth in sideline and competitive cheerleading always encouraging them to strive and perform their best!
Kendra is the proud business owner of Millennium Lawn & Snow Service and has a bachelor's degree in business administration and an associate degree in early childhood education. However, she knows the importance of being a life-long learner and is currently taking classes to receive a bachelor's degree in early childhood education.
Kendra and her husband, Jim, reside in Owosso and are the proud parents of three children and their “fur-kids,” four retired greyhounds. As a family, Kendra enjoys traveling to various locations around Michigan sharing and educating others on the facts and benefits of greyhound adoption. In addition, Kendra also enjoys giving back to the community in other ways by volunteering for the American Red Cross, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, and distributing food at the mobile food pantry.
